BIPOC Deserve To Be Free of All Oppressive Systems

Relying on a system that has harmed us so much is futile. The dismantling and reclaiming work must continue while at the same time we nurture ourselves, polish our tools and love on ourselves and each other more powerfully, more potently and more compassionately.

I can’t say I am surprised with the preliminary results so far...I want to be wrong but my gut & what I’ve seen has been telling me otherwise for quite some time now. This country has been showing its true colors except many were just not interested in having that conversation, in seeing what was happening, it was inconvenient & still is for so many.

Let’s be crystal clear. Neither presidency means white supremacy ends. White supremacy is woven into the fabric of ALL of our systems including the electoral system. Voting is just one tool. Deconstructing and reclaiming means we stay on course.

I acknowledge the collective grief and pain I feel deeply in my heart. I acknowledge I have shed so many tears of despair. At the same time I have also witnessed the power of our community specifically #BIWOC and the resilience & rage being channeled into collective action. The way forward is truly through our own liberation.

For me that means we stop seeking validation outside of ourselves and practice living the vision we want right now reimagining, daring to do so boldly and courageously. It means we center ourselves and each other, unapologetically, doing the work of dismantling and deconditioning our minds, bodies and souls.

This is truly bold and courageous work, and once you are on the journey you’ll wonder where the heck you were going before!

Cry and vent and do what you have to do to take care of yourselves. Just know that the answers lie within us, that this moment won’t stop us, that we can and will create a new radical way forward, forging new paradigms and ways of being that center our humanity & our whole, full ass selves!

These times are very tough for BIPOC, it is important that we rest, reground and regroup as often as we need to. I see you. You deserve freedom. You deserve to live carefree and thrive. You deserve to be free of all of these oppressive systems.

The forces at play rely on the full depletion of our bodies, minds and souls, they don’t want us to rest because they rely on us for output and production. Regardless of the outcome of this election, it does not mean we ease our demands; it simply means we adjust our strategy.

We will slowly get there together. I will always commit to the nurturing and holding of our people. While we wait for the results let’s keep recharging, polishing those tools and loving each other!
